Can I self-host Autional for free?+
Partly — the open-source components (portals, design system, SDKs) are free to self-host under AGPL-3.0 / MIT. The core identity services are proprietary and available under a commercial license (private deployment includes source access). Cloud hosting is on the roadmap (coming soon).
What counts as a MAU?+
A Monthly Active User is a unique user who authenticates within a calendar month. If a user signs in once during the month, they count as 1 MAU. Idle users do not count.
Can I upgrade from Free to Pro without migrating?+
Yes. Upgrading unlocks higher limits and additional features instantly. No data migration, no code changes, no downtime.
Do you offer discounts for open-source projects?+
Once cloud launches, we plan to offer special pricing for open-source projects and non-profit organizations. Contact us for details.
What payment methods do you accept?+
Once cloud launches, we'll support all major credit cards via Stripe. For Enterprise plans, we also plan to support wire transfers and annual invoicing.
